<br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH <br />ORDINANCE N0. <br />PAGE 6. <br />OLMSTED <br />82- 159 <br />-, <br />(c) Subscribers or users of security systems who have not <br />cantracted with a security alarm dealer for an alarm agent <br />to respond to the scene of alarm activations shall indicate <br />the telephone numbers of at least two (2) responsible <br />persons who axe capable of deactivating and resetting the <br />alarm system and of assisting the police to secure the <br />premises, if necessary, and who may be notified by the <br />North Olmsted Police Department to respond to the scene. <br />Such person or pexsons shall respond to the scene within <br />one-half (1/2) hour after being requested to do so by the <br />Noxth Olmsted Police Department, unless good cause is shown. <br />(d) No person shall install or maintain a security alarm system <br />which does not have some safeguard which allows reasonable <br />delay to halt or recall an accidental alarm activation before <br />the alarm is communicated to the North Olmsted Police <br />Department for response to the scene. <br />559.11 GENERAL PROVISIQNS <br />(a) Al1 ec{uipment used in installations for which a permit is <br />required shall meet the applicable standards of the Under- <br />writers Laboratories and/or other recognized industry <br />standard. Applicant may be required to submit evidence <br />of the xeliability and suitability of the ec{uipment to be <br />installed. <br />(b) The sensory mechanism used in connection with such devices <br />must be adjusted to suppress false indications of fire or <br />intrusion, so that the devices will not be actuated by <br />impulses due to transient pressure change in water pipes, <br />short flashes of light, wind noises such as the rattling or <br />vibrating of dooxs or windows, vehicular noise adjacent <br />to the installation or other forces unrelated to genuine <br />alarms. <br />(c) Each permit application is to be accompanied by a copy of <br />the opexating instructions for the device. <br />(d) The Chief of Police or any officer designated by him shall <br />have the authority, at reasonable time and upon twenty-four <br />(24) hour oral notice, to enter upon any premises within <br />the City, to inspect the installation and operation of an <br />automatic protection device or signalling device, the <br />purpose of which is to report an emergency to the police. <br />(e) If any provision of this Ordinance is for any reason held <br />invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such pro- <br />viSion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent <br />provision, and such holding shall not affect the validity <br />of the remaining provisions. <br />559.12 RULES AND REGULATIONS <br />The Safety Director or his authorized representative shall make <br />and enforce such rules and regulations as he may deem necessary <br />for the enforcement of the provisions hereof, and for the proper <br />determination and collection of the fees and charges herein provided.
