In computin; length of service for the purpose of making pay- <br />ments of longevity increments hereinabove set fortha no credit shall be <br />given for part-time service, but such limitation is only for the nurp9se <br />of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for T)art-time service <br />shall not deprive any employee of any other benefits which may be due them <br />for part-time service as employees in the Safety Denartment. <br />E. In addition to the regular base salary, plus increments and <br />other wage increases, full-time sworn employees of the Police DeDartment, <br />shall on their original appointment and during the f_irst calendar year <br />thereafter receive a clothing allowance of three hundred sev:enty-five dellars <br />($375.00) in 1982, to be determined and disbursed by and with the approval <br />of the Police Chief of the Department. <br />F. That effective July 22, 1976, the City of North Olmsted <br />shall pay the full amount for the hosnitalization insurance costs of all <br />full-time employees of the North Olmsted Police Department with either <br />Blue Cross and Medical Mutual Hospitalization Plan or the Kaiser Community <br />Health Foundation Plan. Nothing contained herein shall be construed so as <br />to afford said coverage to either Auxiliary Police, School Guards, or <br />other part-time or temporary employees. <br />G. That all full-time sworn employees of the North Olmsted 1'olice <br />Department shall be entitled to certain holidays during the year and shall <br />not be required to work on these holidays, unless scheduled to work by the <br />Chief of Police. In the event the employee either taorks or was not <br />scheduled to work for reasons other than holiday leave on one of the follow- <br />ina holidays, then the employee shall receive another day off from work to <br />replace the holiday he worked or was not required to work for reasons other <br />than holiday leave. The scheduled holidays are as follows: <br />New Year's Day, President's Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; <br />Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Day; Veteran's Day; the <br />employee's birthday; and the employee's personal use day. This <br />provision does not anply to Auxiliary Police or School Guards. <br />The holiday schedule for full-time secretarial and clerical help <br />shall be in accorciance with the Ordinance establishing same. Furthermore, <br />all sworn Police Officers, except the Chief of Police, shall receive <br />additional four (4) hours straight time pay i£ required to work eight (8) <br />hours or more on Thanksgiving and Christmas or receive time off if approved <br />by Chief of Police. <br />H. That all full-time employees of the Police Department shall be <br />entitled to an annual vacation in accordance with the City of North Olmsted <br />Vacation Ordinance. <br />1. That for purposes of this Ordinance, a work day is defined as <br />a continuous eight (8) hour period and a work week is defined as forty <br />(40) hours. <br />J. That effective January l, 1977, all full-time sworn employees <br />with the excetition of the Chief, the City of North Olmsted shall pay <br />emnloyees time and a half (1-1/2) their regular rate of nay for all hours <br />required to be worked in excess of the work day or week as defined in <br />Paragraph I hereof. However, no employee shall be paid at an overtime rate <br />for time spent while pursuing educational endeavors, mandatory schooling <br />required by law or internal nrograms instituted by the Chief of Police re- <br />lating to changes in Revised Code or the Ohio Uniform Rules of Criminal <br />Procedure. It shall, however, be appropriate to pay the overtime rate to <br />emnloyees who participate in specialtY pro;rams requiring training at times <br />other then the employees' regular tour of duty and further that said pro- <br />grams have been designated by the Chief of Police as one for which the <br />overtime rate will be paid. <br />K. Any employee who qualifies for overtime by virtue of the pro- <br />visions of Paragraphs I and J hereof shall be paid a minimum of two (2) <br />hours when reQuired to report for extra duty over and above his regular <br />work day and work week. Said emoloyee shall also be paid a minimum of two <br />(2) hours for anpearances at the Rocky River Municipal Court and a minimum <br />of four (4) hours for appearances before the Grand Jury or Common Pleas <br />Court when the same is required and is at a time other than the employee's <br />regular work tour. The comnensation for the af_oresaid hours of credit will <br />be at a rate of time and one half (1-1/2) of the emnloyees regular rate of <br />nay.
