CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 82 - 50 <br />BY: <br />MR. MCKAY <br />AN ORDINANCE FSTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATIONAL CHAR'I' <br />AND COMPOSITION OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; AS WELL AS <br />SALARIES AND VARIOUS BENEI'ITS FOR THE F.MPLOYFFS OF <br />THE PIRE DEPARTMENT, AND ADOPTING VARIOUS RULES AND <br />REGULA'I'IONS, AND ESTABLISHING EMpLOYEE RIGHTS AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY <br />OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Organizational Chart of the Fire Department of <br />the City of North Olmsted, Chapter 141, Section 141.02, entitled "Composi- <br />tion and Classification" of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances shall <br />read as follows: <br />A. That the Organizational Chart for the Fire Department and the <br />personnel set forth in the Organizational Chart shall consist of the <br />C11ief of Fire who shall be in charge of the entire Fire Denartment. <br />B. The Fire Chief shall also be in charge of the General Duty <br />Uniform Roster, which shall consist of: One (1) Assistant Fire Chief; <br />Four (4) Captains; Six (6) Lieutenants; and Twenty-Seven (27) Firemen. <br />C. The Fire Department as constituted herein shall be classified <br />by the Director of Safety, as required by law. <br />SECTION 2: That Council does hereby establish salaries for the <br />various members of the Fire Department covering the year of 1982, and the <br />same shall be as follows effective January l, 1982. <br />Effective January l, 1982 <br />A. That the organization of the Fire Department shall consist of <br />not less than twenty (20) nor more than twenty-eight (28) sworn full- <br />time employees who are Certified Paramedics; and that effective Sentember <br />13- 1980, and thereafter, any sworn full-time employee shall, while on duty <br />as a Certified Paramedic, be paid additional compensation at the rate of <br />$400.00 annually for all time snent as a Fireman/Paramedic, such com-nensation <br />to be paid by the Director of Finance on December 15th of each year. <br />C. One (1) of the above officers, other than the Chief or the <br />Assistant Chief, shall be assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau as Fire <br />Prevention Officer/Inspector and shall be paid additional comnensation at <br />the rate of $450.00 annually for all time spent while assigned to the Fire <br />Prevention Bureau. <br />D. 'I'hat excluding secretarial and clerical emnloyees, all full- <br />time emnloyees of the Fire Department having coMbleted five (5) years of <br />full-time continuous service with the Ctiy, shall be paid an additional <br />four percent (40) of their base annual salary, thereafter until completion <br />of the tenth (lOth) year of continuous full-time service, after which such <br />employee shall receive £ive nercent (50) of their base annual salary, there- <br />after until the completion of the fifteenth (15th) year of continuous full- <br />time service, and thereafter si.x percent (6°,) of their base annual salary <br />until the completion of the twentieth (20th) year of continuous full-time <br />service, and during each year of full-time service thereafter t11ey shall re- <br />ceive <br />seven percent (70) of their base annual salary as longevity increments
