In computin,g length of service for the purpose of making payments of longevity increments hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part-time service, but such limitation is only for the purnose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for part-time service shall not deprive any employee of any other benefits which may be due for part time service as employees in the Safety Department. F. In addition to the regular base salary plus increments and other wage increases, all regular employees of the Fire Department, including officers, shall on their original appointment and during the first calendar year of their appointment, receive Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($350.00) clothing allowance, and shall during each calenda.r year thereafter receive a clothing allowance of Three Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars ($375.00). Said allowance shall be controlled by the Chief, however, any employee may purchase regulation clothing and be reimbursed upon presentation of a satisfactory receipt. G. That all full-time employees of the North Olmsted Fire Department excluding secretarial and clerical heln, shall be entitled to certain holidays during the year and shall not be required to work on these holidays unless scheduled to work by the Fire Chief. In the event the employee either works or was not scheduled to work for reasons other than holiday leave on one of the follwoing holidays, then the employee shall receive another day off from work to renlace the holiday he worked, or was not required to work for reasons other than holiday leave. The scheduled holidays are as follows: New Year's Day, Dresident's Day, Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Day; Veteran's Day; the employee's birthday; and the employee's personal use day. N. That all full-time emnloyees of the Fire Department shall be entitled to an annual vacation in accordance with the following schedule: 1 to 5 years inclusive of full-time service - two (2) weeks 6 to 11 years inclusive of full-time service - three (3) weeks 12 to 19 years inclusive of full-time service - four (4) weeks 20 years and over of full-time service - five (5) weeks For the nurpose of a vacation week, a week shall be defined as seven (7) consecutive days off. Al1 vacation time shall be paid at the regular salary rate. If due to scheduling, vacations cannot be taken in the year earned and are accumulated and taken in the next subsequent year, the rate of vacation pay shall be the rate of nay during the ,year taken provided the same is first approved by the Safety Director. 1. For the purnose of this Ordinance, the following provisions apply with respect to hours worlced and conditions of employment: 1VORK SCHEDULE AND OVERTIME 1. The regular work schedule for Fire Prevention personnel shall consist o.f_ five (5) consecutive eight (8) hour days, Monday through Friday. Firefighting platoon nersonnel shall have an average of fifty-six (56) hour duty week consisting of twenty-four (24) hour shi£ts on a three (3) platoon basis. 2. Normal hours for emnloyees working a forty (40) hour week shall be from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 n.m. These schedules are subject to adjustment by the Chief. 3. Any time worked in excess of eiaht (8) hours a day and any time worked in excess of forty (40) hours a week, or in the case of firefighting platoon nersonnel, any time worked in excess of twenty-four (24) hours in a seventy-two (72) hour neriod shall be considered over- time. Al1 employees, except the Chief of the Department, shall be compensated for authorized overtime work at a rate of time and one half of the regular rate of pay calculated by dividing yearly salary by 2080 hours. The Chief will be the determining authority on the necessity f_or overtime. When compensatory time is desired, the employee will determine, subject to the approval of the Chief, when time will be taken. The minimum time to callback shall be for two (2) hours. 4. Compensatory time cannot be transferred from one emnloyee to another employee.
