CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 82 - 84 <br />BY: DWAYNE R. WOERPEL <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO <br />THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED OF <br />A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED RELATING TO THE MEETING REQUIRE- <br />MENTS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, <br />AS MIENDED. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter of the City of North <br />0lmsted, and the Constitution of the State of Ohio, this Council <br />has determined to authorize and direct the submission to the <br />electors of the City of North Olmsted of a proposed Charter <br />amendment, hereinafter set forth in the General Election to be <br />held on November 2, 1982, which election is not less than sixty <br />(60) days, nor more than one hundred twenty (120) days from the <br />date of the passage of this ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO, TWO-THIRDS <br />OF THE COUNCIL CONCURRING: <br />SECTION l. That this Council hereby authorizes and directs <br />the submission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted at <br />the General Election to be held at the usual places of voting in <br />said City on Tuesday, November 2, 1982, the following proposal <br />to amend the Charter of the City of North Olmsted: <br />PROPOSAL <br />That Section 7 of Article IV of the Charter be <br />amended to provide for the establishment of a <br />minimum of eighteen (18) meetings per calendar <br />year with respect to conducting the business of <br />Council. Such amended Section 3 of Article IV <br />to read as follows: <br />ARTICLE IV <br />THE COUNCIL <br />SECTION 7. MEETINGS. <br />(a) Regular Meetings. The Council sha11 meet in the <br />Council Chamber at such times as may be prescribed by its rules, <br />regulations, ordinances or by-laws, however, not less than twenty- <br />two (22) times during each calendar year, on the first and third <br />Tuesday of each month unless proper notification. All meetings of <br />Council, whether regular or special, shall be open to the public. <br />(b) Special Meetings. Special meetings of Council may be <br />called in accordance with the rules and regulations or by-laws <br />adopted by Council.
