Council Minutes of 12-17-2019 <br />Motion carried. <br />Tim Smith <br />6053 Sherwood Drive <br />Mr. Smith said he has been employed at the Senior Center for about a year now and he <br />gets to see firsthand the seniors that come out for the meals. Tuesday's and Thursday's <br />we serve a hot meal and Monday's it is a boxed lunch and when they have bingo on <br />Friday it is also a boxed lunch. He said they serve between 50 and 80 people at these <br />meals and it gets them out of the house and gives them a chance to do things. He said he <br />can't stress the importance of having the meals continue. It is all nutritionally based food <br />and it is good meals for them. It is a good value. <br />Councilman Schumann moved for adoption. Resolution 2019-113 adopted 7-0. <br />Resolution 2019-114 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to <br />provide construction services for the Recreation Center Ice Rink Project, as detailed in <br />the specifications on file in the Department of Planning & Development, and authorizing <br />the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control to contract for the same with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />Resolution 2019-115 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to solicit quotes for the award of a <br />contract to provide construction services for the Springvale Dredging Project, and <br />authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the <br />same with the lowest and best contractor. <br />Ordinance 2019-116 was introduced and placed on first reading by Council President <br />Jones on behalf of herself and all of Council. An Ordinance to revise the Codified <br />Ordinances by adopting current replacement pages; and declaring an emergency. <br />Councilman Schumann moved to suspend the rule requiring three readings and formal <br />committee review as it was discussed in caucus and is time sensitive.
