Council Minutes of 1-7-2020 <br />Lambert praised several Councilmembers for their comments regarding the legislation. <br />He said State Representative Greenspan should receive a Resolution from Council asking <br />the State to ban plastic bags, as it is should be universally applied throughout the state by <br />the EPA. Mr. Lambert listed multiple states that have a ban of some sort on this issue. He <br />said Ohio isn't banning plastic bags because of the petroleum industry. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2019-109 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with TTX Electronics to <br />provide infrastructure upgrades to the City telephone system, as approved by the Board of <br />Control, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance 2019-110 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. An <br />Ordinance to make appropriations for Capital Improvements for the City of North <br />Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2020. <br />Resolution 2019-111 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for diesel fuel <br />and gasoline products for use by the City of North Olmsted, as per specifications on file, <br />and authorizing the Mayor, after approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a contract <br />to purchase such products. <br />Resolution 2019-112 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Human Resources to solicit proposals from <br />qualified lawn care service providers to perform nuisance abatement work for 2020, and <br />further authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval of the Board of Control, to enter into a <br />contract for lawn care services, and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution 2019-114 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to <br />provide construction services for the Recreation Center Ice Rink Project, as detailed in <br />the specifications on file in the Department of Planning & Development, and authorizing <br />the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control to contract for the same with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />Resolution 2019-115 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to solicit quotes for the award of a <br />contract to provide construction services for the Springvale Dredging Project, and <br />authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the <br />same with the lowest and best contractor. <br />Ordinance 2019-117 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. An <br />Ordinance providing for the issuance and sale of not to exceed $2,200,000 of notes, in <br />anticipation of the issuance of bonds, to provide funds to pay costs of improving the <br />City's Recreation Center by renovating, remodeling, rehabilitating, furnishing, equipping <br />and otherwise improving the ice rinks, the warming area and other related facilities, <br />together will all necessary appurtenances and work incidental thereto. <br />0 <br />
