Council Minutes of -4-21-2020 <br />• Councilman Glassburn said the Charter Review Commission will resume meeting <br />on May 7 and follow an abbreviated meeting schedule to try to make things work <br />with the pandemic. For those wishing to submit items for consideration at the <br />May 7"' meeting, please submit materials by 5:00 p.m, on April 28 to Clerk of <br />Council Massarolo, who is also the clerk for the Charter Review Commission. <br />Proposals may be e-mailed to massaroloc,(LLnorth-olmsted.com. The requested <br />deadline is for the public, Council and Administration. <br />• The North Olmsted Board of Education announced earlier this year they had the <br />intention of closing Spruce Elementary School and would redraw school <br />boundary lines. The School Board will be having a formal meeting tomorrow <br />night at 7:00 p.m. The District sent an announcement to parents yesterday <br />reversing both the closure of Spruce and the redrawing of district lines. <br />Councilman Glassburn said he wanted to thank Councilman Brossard for his <br />advocacy on the issue and all of Council for its questions, comments and interest <br />as well. <br />Councilman Glassburn requested a moment of personal privilege. I have two thank you's <br />to offer. First, I'd like to thank the North Olmsted Police, Chief Wagner, the City <br />Administration and VFW for support and allowance of allowing the Easter Bunny to visit <br />the neighborhoods of Birch and Maple on Easter Sunday. I would also like to thank all of <br />Council, along with Councilman Kelly for driving the truck and Councilwoman Hemann <br />for her logistical support. Lastly, the Easter visit was done in no small part to thank the <br />communities of Birch and Maple Elementary for their help on another project of making <br />face shields. Those communities, myself and all of the Councilmembers who have been <br />so helpful have helped put together over 3,000 face shields for medical and safety <br />workers who are first responders in our county. I would like to thank President Jones for <br />the leeway to do these thank you's and all of Council for their support on these items. <br />Thank you. <br />Councilman Kelly Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee: <br />• 1 do not have a formal report, but I e-mailed with Betsy Drenski and work on the <br />Ice Rink at the Recreation Center began yesterday. <br />LETTERS AND COMMUNICATIONS <br />Mr. Lambert sent an e -snail that will be forwarded to the Administration and Council <br />encouraging the Administration to borrow money directly from the Federal Reserve.
