MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 19, 2020 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kelly, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & <br />Community Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. through GoToMeeting. <br />Due to the meeting being a virtual meeting, Council President Jones requested if any <br />member of the public using a computer wished to address Council to notify the Clerk via <br />the chat feature in GoToMeeting and they would be called on later in the meeting. For <br />those dialing in via phone, the lines would be unmuted during the appropriate portion of <br />the meeting. <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of May 5, 2020 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading: Ordinance 2020-53; First Reading: Resolution 2020-56 <br />and Resolution 2020-57. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Street resurfacing, Country Club Boulevard, Signals Phase 2 and the Ice Rink <br />construction has been proceeding smoothly and uninterrupted. <br />• Mott MacDonald has been selected to do the Clague Road Corridor Study, which <br />will begin in June. The Administration will be seeking public input this summer. <br />• The City has cancelled its annual Fourth of July firework show this year, along <br />with the Memorial Day parade. The City is working with the VFW on its reverse <br />parade this year. <br />• The Service Department has been picking up storm debris and putting it in <br />containers at the Recreation Center. <br />• The City is working on the opening of the Recreation Center and Mayor's Court. <br />• At the end of the month, the City will be having meetings about flooding with <br />residents. The meetings will be small meetings in groups of 10. The Mayor said <br />he would inform Council on the details of these meetings as they are scheduled. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• The Department welcomes Kierstin Benanzer, to the staff. She is finishing her <br />first year at Cleveland Marshall College of Law and is a graduate of the <br />University of Toledo. Her compensation is being paid for through a federal grant <br />and the City looks forward to seeing her develop over the next two years and <br />becoming an outstanding attorney. <br />
