I sent a memo on May 13 on what they
can and cannot be used for. They are not as restricted as I said and treat them.
Director Copfer read what the fees could be used for. Director Copfer said since
the project is in Olmsted Township, the joint use facilities are the plant and the
collection system to get the wastewater from Olmsted Township to our plant.
• Director Copfer said she has been taking advantage of several free continuing
education opportunities as there are a lot being offered right now due to events
being canceled and she is required to get a certain amount every three years.
• The Finance Department sent two items to the Administration and Council this
evening to assist in the tracking of revenue shortfalls. She described both
documents.
Councilman Brossard Chairman of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee:
The Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee met on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 7:21
p.m. Present were committee members Brossard, Williamson and Limpert; Council
members Glassburn, Hemann, Kelly and Schumann; Council President Jones; Mayor
Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of
Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & Community Development Lieber and
guests.
• The committee met to discuss the response to the COVID-19 crisis. The
discussion centered on the visitor policy, cleaning and safety protocols and steps
being taken at all of our buildings to protect personnel. The City is following the
Cuyahoga County Board of Health guidelines for every building. There were
questions regarding the Recreation Center and how it would be spread out and
sanitized. It was brought to the attention of Council that the Ziebart Corporation
has donated cleaning of safety vehicles. When Mayor's Court opens, there will be
temperature checks and one way entrance and exits.
Councilman Brossard asked for a moment of personal privilege.
