May 26, 2020
City of North Olmsted
City Council
RE: Meeting on May 19, 2020 Resolution # 2020-55
It is my understanding that Olmsted Township is proposing a new development on 64 acres with
potentially 130 new homes. Those new homes will have sanitary lines that are currently tied in to our
City of North Olmsted sanitary lines by 8 lines which are currently not at or near capacity.
Those new homes with a standard 2-1/2 bathstranslate to 325 toilets, 260 showers, 650 sinks and 130
washing machines that will be flowing into our city lines.
The lines that currently tie into ours may not be at full capacity but could potentially cause additional
waste in front of where Ward 3's water lines snake to the treatment plant.
It is my opinion this could cause additional water/sewage backup in an area that cannot afford a single
gallon of waste water until the flooding in the areas beyond their tie-in points has been addressed and
resolved.
This resolution was put to a vote and passed 5 to 2 on 5/19/2020. 1 ask that City Council review the large
number of our OWN residents that flooded on 5/15 who are beyond this tie-in point and review your
votes.
Until the proposed retention stations and EQ station are up and running for Ward 3 and we have proof
that our residents and their homes are safe from flooding, I beseech you to not allow any additional
water into or in front of our lines.
Ward 3 Councilman Schumann (and one other councilmember) voted against this resolution to protect
the residents in his ward. I ask that the remaining members of council please reconsider your votes and
put this on a future calendar for a re -vote.
Sincerely,
0 1 Ac
Lee Jo nson
28562 Lynhaven Drive
North Olmsted, OH 44070
