For the purpose of this section. the term annual salary is defined as base pav, overtime. <br />vacation and sick pay. <br />19.2 All frill -time sworn employees effective Januar\ 1. 2013 shall receive longevity pay as <br />additional compensation to the annual salary as follows <br />$500.00 alter the employee completes i N ears of' service <br />$ 1,000.00 after the employee completes 10 Nears of service <br />$1,.500.00 after the employee completes 15 }ears of service <br />$2.000.00 after the employee completes 20 \cars ol'service <br />$2.500.00 after the employee completes 25 years oleservice <br />In computing length ot'service for the purpose of making payments oI'Iongevity <br />increments as herein above set forth. no credit shall be given for part-time service vwith the <br />Fmplover but such limitation is the only exclusion for the purpose of'computRW longevity. All <br />full time sworn employees eligiI)le for longevity pav under Article 19.2 shall receive a final <br />longevity payment upon cessation of employment for ani reason. notvvithstandin�- Article 19.3. <br />The payment shall be based upon a per diem calculation commencing and including the <br />employee's last service anniversary date up to and including the last day ofemployment. <br />19.3 Longevity compensation shall be paid accordingly in each employee's regular pay check <br />on the anniversary date of hire. <br />ARTICL.,E. XX PARAMEDIC PAN' <br />20.1 f�:mployces that are certified by the State ol'Ohio as a paramedic shall he paid <t bonus of <br />one thousand four hundred ($1,400.00) dollars on or before the 15`x' of December. each year. <br />It shall be calculated on a prorated basis for those who. during the year. retire. and for <br />those individuals hired before December 31.. 1995, that lose their certification for whatever <br />reason. To be eligible for full payment. an employee shall be required to be certified for the <br />period between December 15 and December 14. each year of this Agreement. <br />20.2 L'juployees shall be permitted to drop their paramedic certification after fifteen (15) years <br />of continuous service in order of seniority down. Linployees that drop their Paramedic <br />certification must maintain their FMT certification. Employees shall be permitted to drop their <br />paramedic certification providing the total number of remaining paramedics does not fall belovv <br />thirty-three (33). Should manning increase, the total minimum slumber of'paramedics required <br />would increase by one (I ) for every three (3) additional hires. Should manning decrease. the total <br />number of' pararnedics required would decrease by one ( I ) for every (3) staffing / employee <br />reductions based upon forty six (46) employees. <br />20.3 Effective January 1, 2013 any employee wishing to promote to a higher rank shall be <br />required to maintain paramedic certii'ication.
