MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 1, 2020 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Glassburn, Hemann, Kelly, <br />Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & <br />Community Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Absent: Council Member Brossard <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. through GoToMeeting. <br />Due to the meeting being a virtual meeting, Council President Jones requested if any <br />member of the public using a computer wished to address Council to notify the Clerk via <br />the chat feature in GoToMeeting and they would be called on later in the meeting. For <br />those dialing in via phone, the lines would be unmuted during the appropriate portion of <br />the meeting. <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of August 18, 2020 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: None. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• No Report. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• The City has received communications back from both the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Elections and the Ohio Secretary of State concerning the ballot language <br />on the Charter amendments. There were some suggested changes, which has <br />happened before, and I didn't believe was of any significant substance. I spoke <br />with one of the sponsors of the legislation and determined it wasn't a significant <br />issue. At this point I have been working with Clerk Massarolo on the timeframe to <br />get the notices issued. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• The July finance statements were sent to Council this afternoon. <br />• The PAFR has been filed and is on the website and Council has been sent a copy. <br />Copies will not be printed and mailed to residents this year because of the costs <br />and needing to save money due to COVID. The City is planning to publicize it is <br />on the website to residents via multiple methods. <br />• The Office of Budget Management said the amount of money the City will get for <br />COVID spending will be half the amount it received in June and July.
