Council President Jones, Committee of the Whole: The Committee of the Whole met on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 8:37 p.m. Present were Council members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, Kelly, Limpert, Schumann and Williamson; Council President Jones; Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources, Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning & Community Development Lieber, Clerk of Council Massarolo and guests. • The purpose of the meeting was to discuss live streaming and agenda management software. The meeting was led by the Council Clerk who presented Council information regarding options. This discussion will be continued in the near future. Councilwoman Williamson Chairwoman of the Building, Zoning & Development Committee: The Building, Zoning & Development Committee met on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 7:15 p.m. Present were committee members Williamson, Limpert and Schumann; Councilmembers Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann and Kelly; Council President Jones; Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Director of Planning and Community Development Lieber, City Engineer DiFranco Economic Development Manager Myers and guests. • An economic development update was presented to Council. Economic Development Manager Myers discussed North Olmsted's changing retail landscape and discussed Council's concerns about recent retail store closings. In addition, Council was provided a brief update on future development projects. Councilman Schumann Chairman of the Finance Committee: The Finance Committee met on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Present were committee members Schumann, Brossard and Kelly; Council members Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert and Williamson; Council President Jones; Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human Resources Gallo, Director of Safety & Service Glauner and guests. • Discussed was Resolution 2020-95. A Resolution approving of and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the International Association of Firefighters, Local 1267, AFL-CIO for the City's Firefighters, for the period January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2023. The contract calls for a 0% wage increase in 2021, a 2.5% increase in 2022 and 2023. The work week will go from 50.4 hours to 49 hours. Members will give back one personal day and some bereavement leave. The fire prevention officers will get an increase from $1,200 to $1,700 stipend starting in 2022. Members go from three to two healthcare options in 2022. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend to Council. 2
