MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 6, 2020 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kelly, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & <br />Community Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. through GoToMeeting. <br />Due to the meeting being a virtual meeting, Council President Jones requested if any <br />member of the public using a computer wished to address Council to notify the Clerk via <br />the chat feature in GoToMeeting and they would be called on later in the meeting. For <br />those dialing in via phone, the lines would be unmuted during the appropriate portion of <br />the meeting. <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of September 15, 2020 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading: Ordinance 2020-101, Resolution 2020-105, Ordinance <br />2020-106 and Ordinance 2020-107. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• This past Sunday, Springvale welcomed Fox News Anchor and Executive Editor <br />Martha MacCallum. She did a pre-recorded interview with five female Cleveland <br />voters that aired during the pre -debate coverage. <br />• Halloween Trek at the Rec is scheduled for Friday, October 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. <br />This is a socially distanced family friendly event where residents stay in their <br />cars. The deadline to register is October 19"'. <br />• Halloween Trick or Treat is scheduled for Saturday, October 31 from 6 to 8. <br />Residents are encouraged to follow the Responsible Restart Ohio Guidance which <br />has been posted on the website. <br />• The ice rink project will wrap up at the end of the month and be open for public <br />use in November. The City Hall Public Health Project continues on schedule. <br />Country Club Boulevard is complete except for a light pole replacement that was <br />damaged in a motor vehicle collision. The walking path is complete and the <br />service department will perform restoration of the lawn next week. <br />• We have had several retirements in our Police Department. Officer Paul Miller <br />(30 years), Officer John Downs (25 years), Secretary Mary Harwood (22 years), <br />Officer Bob Briesath (30 years) and Captain Ron Cox (33 years). <br />• Police Lieutenant Eric Morgan will be sworn in as a Police Captain tomorrow <br />morning. <br />
