(b) Hours of vacation which the employee did not work but for which he received pay <br />pursuant to Article 21 of this Agreement. <br />(c) I lours of jury duty or witness duty whicla the employee did riot work for which he <br />received pay pursuant to Article 26 of this :Agreement. There shall be no <br />pyramiding of overtime. <br />10.06 If a time clock is to be used for a department.. all hourly employees shall be required to <br />Block in and clock out at the beginning and end of each shift. Any erraployee clocking in late will <br />be docked to the nearest tenth of an hour. Arnv employee tivorking overtime with the approval of <br />supervision shall be paid overtime to the next tenth of an hour. <br />ARTICI.,E 11 DISTRIBUTION OF OVERTIME <br />11.01 The Employer shall be the s(.)le,judttie of the necessity of overtime. All overtime shall be <br />voluntary and an employee shall have the right to refuse any overtime assignment except for <br />snow removal, inclement weather/rain events and any other situation that the Employer deems an <br />emergency. 1n "ertuergency is defined as any Impairments to City services or, operations tivhich <br />cannot he delayed until the beginning of the next day. In non -emergency situations, the Cif- <br />may require the least senior qualified ernployee in the classification who are available, to <br />perform the overtime work. The distribution of overtime shall be referred to the <br />Labor/Mana,,�)enaent Committee for discussion and resolution. <br />11.02 The Employer shall endeavor, insofar as it naav be practicable. to make generally <br />equitable distribution of overtime work among employees within a classification and department <br />who are capable of performing the available work satisfactorily. Gmployces who are offered <br />overtime and 1 -tar any reason refuse or fail to a work shall be credited with the overtime as if they <br />had worked, for the purpose of overtime distribution. Ara employee who works overtime vv ill be <br />credited only with the number of hours he actually worked. An employee who should have been <br />called up for overtime, but was missed, shall have deducted from his equalization the total <br />number of hours that were worked on that overtime call. In the event that a sufficient number of <br />qualified employees are not available within the classification for the overtime assignment. <br />qualified employees from a different classification and!or department shall be offered the <br />overtime work and the overtime opportunity shall be distributed as equitably as possible. The <br />Employer shall maintain lists by classcation show in,, the overtime hours of each employee. <br />All overtime hours shall be recorded on a daily basis. The overtime lists shall be posted at each <br />work location (Service Garage, Plant and Systems) and shall be kept current on a daily basis. <br />The Service Mechanics and helpers will be subject to rotating overtime. These overtime lists <br />shall be reduced to zero and start again on July I, 2018 through December 31, 2018:. and <br />subsequently on January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019 and January 1. 2020 through <br />December 31, 2020. Students, seasonal and part-time employees tivill riot work overtime until all <br />regular employees have been offered overtime. <br />11.03 During snow season, employees \N ill be canvassed daily to determine their availability <br />during the ensuing non-shift/overtime hours for snow removal or ice control duty.
