MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 4, 2020 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kelly, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & <br />Community Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. through GoToMeeting. <br />Due to the meeting being a virtual meeting, Council President Jones requested if any <br />member of the public using a computer wished to address Council to notify the Clerk via <br />the chat feature in GoToMeeting and they would be called on later in the meeting. For <br />those dialing in via phone, the lines would be unmuted during the appropriate portion of <br />the meeting. <br />The Public Hearing Minutes of September 8, 2020 were approved as written. <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of October 20, 2020 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading: Ordinance 2020-112. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Cuyahoga County received free PPE from the State of Ohio. The City of North <br />Olmsted received 7,500 disposable masks and 600 face shields. <br />• The ice rink has opened. There are still some details that need to be completed, <br />but the feedback from the first night was great. <br />• The first-ever drive through Trunk or Treat at the Recreation Center took place on <br />Friday, October 23 and about 150 cars were served before the second <br />thunderstorm hit and shut it down. The Mayor thanked everyone for making this a <br />great event, especially the staff at the Rec Center who did an unbelievable job in <br />the horrible storm. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• The four charter amendments all passed pretty handily. He thanked the Charter <br />Review Commission and everyone involved for doing a great job. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• Finance has been working on the budget and it has been an interesting puzzle. The <br />plan is to have it introduced at the next meeting. <br />
