Council Minutes of 11-17-2020
Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and Assistant
Recreation Commission Wetmore and guests.
• Discussed first was Resolution 2020-118. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to
renew the contract between the City and Karrie Skall Tipton/North Olmsted
Gymnastics, Inc. for the provision of professional gymnastics instruction services
at the North Olmsted Recreation Center for an additional six month term with
option to extend for full one (1) year. Discussion was held about the agreement.
During the discussion on page three, item one was recommended to be amended.
The committee voted 3-0 to recommend to Council with the amendment.
Councilman Kelly moved to amend Resolution 2020-118's exhibit, page three, item one.
The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Hemann and passed unanimously.
Roll Call:
Yes: Kelly, Hemann, Williamson, Limpert, Glassburn, Brossard, Schumann
No: None
Motion carried. Resolution 2020-118 amended 7-0.
• Discussed next was Resolution 2020-119. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor of
the City of North Olmsted to enter into a one-year agreement with Reit Vending
LLC in order to provide for vending machine services at the North Olmsted
Recreation Center. In the agreement, Reit would give 15% commission of gross
sales of all the snack and ice cream machines. The committee voted to
recommend to Council 3-0.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Jeff Sturgeon
3092 W. 231 Street
Mr. Sturgeon asked Council to do whatever they need to do to get a third lane on Clague
Road. He believes it is needed and anybody with any kind of sense would know that's
what worked on the other side of Lorain for Clague Road. He said in the 1990's there
were three proposals for the section and one of them cost the City $120,000. Another
proposal was going to remove the curb and level seven homes. He said none of that
happened and the decision made was for the middle lane. Mr. Sturgeon said the first
proposal isn't always the best and asked Council to find a way to get it done.
LEGISLATION
Ordinance 2020-78 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An
Ordinance providing for the amendment of Chapter 1115 (Definitions) of the Codified
Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted, as amended. Councilwoman Williamson
moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed
unanimously.
Roll Call:
1
