tripping or falling <br />SECTION 2: Any full-time employee who qualifies for benefits under this Article shall he <br />required to pav over to the I�:mpIo\er any amount received from the Bureau of Workers <br />Compensation as supplemental wages. This provision does not apply' if the City is self-insured <br />for workers' compensation. <br />If at any time the Employer determines. on the basis of medical evidence, that the <br />employee is permanently disabled and will no longer he able to carry on his duties. then the <br />Employer may terminate payments and insist that the employee ego on a pension pro�(,rarn. <br />SECTION 3: Any employee who qualifies for the benefits under this Article shall not have his <br />accumulated sick time reduced because ofa qualified accidental injury which recurred while in <br />the line ofduty. <br />ARTICLE 23: <br />BEREAVEMENT LEAVE? <br />SECTION l: All employees shall he granted Bereavement Leave (not to be deducted from <br />employee"s sick leave) according to the follov\ing schedule: <br />a) Upon the death of an immediate family member. live ('i) day`s <br />SECTION 2: For the purposes of this Article, immediate family shall mean: Hushand, wife. <br />child, parent. brother or sister of employee. parents of spouse of the employee, brother or sister <br />of spouse, grandparents, (grandparents of spouse, grandchild. step children, step parents, step <br />parents of spouse. son-in-law, daughter-in-law, as well as any relative living in the employee's <br />house. <br />SECTION is In the event ofa death of any other person riot listed above. an employee shall use <br />his accumulated sick leave or may use sick leave to extend funeral leave time with the approval <br />of the department supervisor. <br />ARTICLE 24: <br />JURY DUTY LEAVE,, <br />SECTION 1: An employee called for jury duty shall be granted a leave of absence for the <br />period of the jury service and will he compensated at full pay for absences necessarily caused by <br />the jury duty. <br />SECTION 2: Employees working the second, third, relief or overlap shifts, will not be required <br />to work on the day that the employee is on ,jury duty and these employees will he compensated as <br />provided in Section 1. <br />19 <br />
