ARTICLE XIII CLO"fl lIN(i ALLO�V`A>\CI; <br />3.01 All emplo}ees shall maintain duty uniforms as mandated by the Rules and ReUU1a6011S <br />13.02 All new police officers, immediately upon completing the selection process and prior to <br />appointment shall be provided two (2) duty uniforms_ one (I)uniform cap. one (1) lightweight <br />jacket. one ( I ) winter jacket, and one ( I ) pair of boots. All clothing provided and/or clotlriII" <br />allowance paid shall be surrendered to the Employer in the event the employee fails to complete <br />the probationary period. including all issued equipment given by the 1-mployer. <br />13.03 All full-time bargaining unit members shall receive an annual clothing. allowfance oone <br />thousand three hundred Nifty ($1,350.00) dollars payable with the first regular pay check in <br />January Rnr the duration of this Agreement. <br />13.04 Clothing allowance shall be pro -rated per month in the employee's first year of <br />employment and final year of employment. <br />13.0.5 In the event of damaae to uniform items. including watches and prescription eyeglasses. <br />which occurs in the active dischar,)e of an employee's duties enforcin�o the lav\,. Duties such as <br />routine issuance of a citation or a routine accident invcstigation shall not be considered a cause <br />for replacement of damaged items. The Employer shall pay the difference bctweern the amount of <br />reimbursement from the insurance or court ordered recovery and the cost of repair or <br />replacement at current fair market value. I lovvcver, the hmployer's monetary reimbursement <br />obligation for repair or replacement of the following articles shall not exceed the maximum <br />amounts set forth below: <br />Item Maximum Eniployer Cost <br />Watch <br />Prescription Eycglasses $100.00 <br />Uniform .Jacket $200.00 <br />Line of duty damage shall be reported immediately to the Chiefof Police. Oil approval of the <br />Chiefof Police, the above noted payment shall be forwarded to the employee. absent or after any <br />other form of reimbursement and upon receipt of replacement of' said items. <br />13.06 Body Armor: The Employer agrees to provide and pay for all employees body armor, a <br />minimum level Illa. The Employer agrees to replace hodv armor at such time as the vests are no <br />longer serviceable as provided in the manufacturer's specifications. In the event the body armor <br />is rendered unserviceable due to misuse or neglect by the employee, replacement shall be the <br />responsibility of the employee. The E:rnployer will pay up to one thousand two hundred <br />($1,200.00) dollars for the cost of such vest. <br />
