15.04 Bereavement leave shall he exclusive ol� sick time or any other accumulated time. <br />15.05 1n the event ol'a death cif anv other person not listed above. an empIovee shall use his <br />accumulated sick leave or may use sick leave to extend Funeral leave time. with the approval of <br />the Chief or his designee. <br />15.06 Lmployces scheduled to work twelve ( 12 ) hour shifts shall be granted bereavement leave <br />Ol'up to thirty-six (16) work hours in the event of the death of an immediate family member. <br />ARTICLE XVI GRIEVANCE= PROCFDI)RF <br />16.01 The term grievance shall mean an alleption by a bargaining unit employee that there has <br />been a breach, â–ºmisinterpretation, or improper application ol'this agreement. <br />16.02 A grievance may be filed by any member of the bargaining unit. Where a group of <br />bargainin-T unit members desire to file a grievance involving a situation afiectin-, the group, a <br />member shall be designated by such group to process the grievance. Such grievance shall be <br />defined as a group grievance. The names of`each member, on behalf of which the orievance is <br />tiled, shall he made available at the First hearing.. Group grievances shall be presented in the first <br />instance to the supervisor common to all employees in the group. The grievance procedure <br />outlined in Section 16.05 shall be used throughout. <br />16.03 All grievances must be processed and answcred at the proper step in the grievance <br />pro«ression to he considered at the next step. An\ grievance that is not timely appealed to the <br />next step of the procedure will be deemed to have been settled on the basis of the Employers <br />answer at the last completed step. <br />Time limits set forth herein may only be extended by mutual agreement of the parties. <br />The a_rgricved may withdraw a grievance atany point by submitting, in writing. a statement to <br />that affect, or by permitting the time requirements at any step to lapse without further appeal. <br />Any grievance not ansvvered by the Employer or his designee within the stipulated time limits <br />shall be considered to have been appealed to the next step in the grievance procedure. <br />16.04 Written grievances must be filed on the form provided b\ the FOP and shall contain. but <br />not be limited to. the following intormation: <br />I . Date and time grievance occurred: <br />2 Description of incident giving rise to the grievance; <br />3. Articles and sections of the agreement involved. <br />4. Relief requested. <br />5. Signature ol'the emploNce. <br />16.05 The following steps shall be followed in the processin; ol'a grievance. <br />Step I.
