31.06 An employee who participates in a rehabilitation or detoxification prouram shall be <br />allowed to use sick leave. vacation leave, or personal days For the period of the rehabilitation. If <br />no such leave credit is available. such employee may lie placed on an unpaid medical leave of <br />absence. <br />31.07 upon completion of the program and retest that demonstrates that the ernplo�ee is no <br />longer illegal ly using a controlled substance. the employce shall be returned to his position. <br />Such employee may be subject to periodic retesting at the L�,mployer's discretion. upon return to <br />his position for a period oftwo (2) years from the date of his return. <br />31 AS Any employee in the above mentioned rehabilitation program \a,ill not lose any seniority <br />Should it be necessary that he be required to take: an unpaid medical leave of absence. <br />AR`LICL,E XXXI1 PARL- 1'1191=. SRO OFf:'ICERS <br />32.01 The City may implement the use of part-time patrol officers fir use as School Resource <br />Officers (SRO). In no way does this require the hiring of any part-time officers, nor does it <br />require any certain number of full-time or part-time SRO. <br />32.02 The City may hire up to two (2) part-time patrol officers for the express purpose of <br />employment as SRO only. Part-time SRO may only Nvork school related activities. <br />32.03 This practice shall not change the funding relationship with the North Olmsted City <br />School District Board of Education ("Schoi)l") (attached as Exhibit 13). The Schools shall still <br />pay the City an amount commensurate with a Full -Time SRO's pay and benefits. <br />32.04 The City and the Police, Chief may schedule such part-time officers at its discretion. and <br />may terminate such part-time officers fir any reason, or no reason. Should SRO lay offs become <br />necessary. or any other lay off, the City will lay-off part-time SRO prior to laying off full-time <br />SRO, or any full time personnel. <br />XXXIII FATAL FORCE <br />33.01 Any time a bargaining- unit member participated in administering fatal force. the <br />following provisions shall apply: <br />A. Fhe employee may, receive up to five (>) days off. but shall not receive less than three <br />t3) workin,—, days off. <br />An extension of time shall be (,-'.ranted by the Chicf'of Police if he deems <br />necessary. <br />E3. The employee shall continue to receive his or her City benefits lbr this Live (5) or <br />three (3) day period, or an approved extension thereof. <br />
