ARTICLE V I OVERTIME/EXTRA DUTY)VALL_ OUT/COMPENSATORY BANK 6.01 Employees shall be paid one and one-half (l '/2) times their regular rate of pay for all hours required to be worked in excess of the work day or week as defined in Section 5.01. or may choose to at their overtime rate, accumulate and maintain up to a maximum ofone hundred twenty (120) hours per each year of this agreement. and can be cashed in at any time throughout the year. 6.02 Each employee steal l have the right to convert overtime hours into compensatory tiime with the approval ofthe Police Chief or his designee on a dollar-for-dollar basis. Lmployees shall be paid for all compensatory time accumulated in excess of four hundred eighty hours (480) on the next scheduled pay. Employees may have the right to take compensatory time when the time off does not interfere with the operation ofthe Police Department. The taking off of such compensatory time shall be subject to the approval ofthe Police Chief or his designee. Overtime shall be converted to compensatory time at the current rate of pay plus longevity on a dollar for dollar basis. An Employee or his estate shall he paid for unused, accumulated compensatory time at the time of separation at a Basic Hourly Rate of Pay for his workweek plus lon_'evity if applicable. Compensatory time shall be taken in a one ( I ) hour minimum block and thereafter 1/2 hour increments, except at the start or end ofa shift. half ('/a) hour increments may be used at the start or end of shift.
