3.02 The FOP shall have use of' suitable bulletin boards for the posting of HOP notices or other <br />materials. The boards shall he identified with the name ofthe FOP, and the FOP may designate <br />persons responsible therclore. - <br />3.03 The Employer shall during ,tage.icontract negotiations. endeavor to schedule time for <br />members ofthe negotiation team to participate in the ncgotiations without having to have worked <br />the 1 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shift immediately prior to any negotiation session. <br />3.04 Frnployees who are elected memhcrs ofthe FOP 'OI_C Labor Committee shall be <br />authorized a bank of eighty (80) hours of paid leave. per calendar year, to attend FOI ;ULC <br />sponsored functions such as educational meetings, business meetings, or seminars. The bank of` <br />eighty (80) hours shall be used collectively by elected committee members representing the E31ue <br />Unit, Gold Unit and Corrections Unit. All requests to use hours from this bank shall he <br />submitted in writing for approval by the Chief of E'olicc or his Designee, which shall not be <br />unreasonably withheld. It is understood that the attendance will not be approycd if it will incur <br />overtime, at the time the approval is granted. Additional time may be granted at the sole <br />discretion ofthe Police Chief. <br />AAR LICI.E IV AGENCY SI IOP./DUI S DEDUC HON <br />4.01 All employees in the bargaining emit shall become dues paying members ofthe <br />FOP/OLC. <br />4.02 Any newly hired employees in the bargaining unit shall, within sixty (60) days of date of <br />employment, become members of'the FOP/OLC. <br />4.03 The Employer agrees to deduct FOP/OI,C dues from any member of the bargaining unit <br />who provides written authorization for a payroll dues and fees deduction. The FOP/01,C shall <br />indemnify the Employer and hold it harmless against any and all claims. demands, suits or other <br />liability that may arise by reason of any action ofthe Employer in complying,! with the provisions <br />of this Article. <br />4.04 local Dues Deduct: The Employer shall deduct local Western Cuyahoga 1,odgc #i25 <br />membership dues in the amount certified by Lodge 425 to the Employer. Said dues will be <br />deducted annually from the first paycheck of each year from the employees authorizing such <br />deduction. <br />ARTICLE V `'FORK Wl"'I'XISCIIE IXTE;D HOURS <br />5.01 A workday is defined as continuous eight (8) hour period in any twenty-four hour period, <br />while on an eight (8) hour rotation, except during those periods which a double back occurs. A <br />double back is defined as the work period in which an employee completes a shift and starts <br />another shift or assignment within the same twenty-four hour period. Double backs required by <br />the Employer will be paid at time and one -hall'( I '/,).
