AGRII;MI;NT <br />This A�,,reement is made between the Cite of North Olmsted (hereinafter referred to as <br />the "Employer'`), and the Fratcrnal Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council (hereinafter referred to <br />as the "FOI'"). <br />The purpose of this Agreement is to prov ide a fair and reasonable method of enabling <br />employees covered by this Agreement to participate. through representation. in the establishment <br />of terms and conditions of tlieir employment.. and to establish a peaceful procedure for the <br />resolution ol'differences between the parties. <br />ARTICLI 1 RE;000NITION <br />1.01 The Employer recognizes the FOP as the sole and exclusive bargaining representative for <br />all full-time Corrections Officers of the Employer for the purpose of collective bargaining with <br />respect to wages, hours. terms and other conditions of employment. <br />1.02 Management shall not attempt to erode the bargaining units or the rights of bargaining <br />unit employees. Except in emergency circumstances, work normally performed by bargaining <br />unit members shall first bee offered to bargaining unit members. <br />ARTICLE 2 NON -[DISCRIMINATION <br />2.0I Both the Employer and the FOP recognize their respective responsibilities under the <br />Federal and State Civil Rights Laws, Fair Employment Practices Acts. and other similar <br />constitutional and statutory requirements. Therefore, both the Employer and the FOP hereby <br />reaffirm their commitments, legal and moral. not to discriminate in any manner relating to <br />employment on the basis of race, color. religion, national origin, disability. sex or age. <br />2.02 "The Employer agrees not to interfere with the rights of employees to become members of <br />the FOP. and there shall be no discrimination, interference, restraint or coercion by the Employer <br />or FOP representative(s) against an} employee(s) because of FOP membership or lack of 1=0P <br />membership. <br />ARTICLE 3 OLC REPRESFIN'TATION <br />3.01 Non-employee representation of the FOP shall he admitted to the Employer's facility for <br />the purpose of' processing grievances. attending meetings, o►• for monitoring the administration of <br />this Agreement. upon approval of the Employer or his desiOnee. The Employer or his designee <br />shall facilitate any, necessary contact between the representative and inv on duty employee. <br />provided that arrangement of the contact is not unduly disruptive of the employee's Joh <br />responsibilities. <br />3.02 The FOP shall have use of suitable bulletin boards for the posting of 1`013 notices or other <br />materials. 'I lie boards shall be identified with the name ofthe FOP, and the FOP may designate <br />persons responsible therefore. <br />
