Pre -Hire (Psychological} Assess€ ,ent for Police Officers and Firefighters <br />The Pre -Hire (Psychological) Assessment requires safety force candidates to complete the <br />following: <br />• PRADCO Law Enforcement Survey (Police) or PRADCO Full Survey (Fire) <br />• Quick View'"" Law Enforcement Assessment (Police) or Quick View` Firefighter <br />Assessment (Fire), if not previously administere <br />• Quick View"" Emotional Intelligence Assessment (Police and Fire) <br />• Strength of Character Assessment (Police) <br />• Personality Index (Police and Fire) <br />• Personal Styles Assessment (Police and Fire) <br />• Inwald Personality Inventory -2 (IPI) (Police and Fire) <br />• A one-hour assessment interview with a PRADCO professional trained in safety force <br />assessment (Police and Fire) <br />The Law Enforcement Survey (Police) or Full Survey (Fire), Quick ViewTv' Law Enforcement or <br />Quick ViewT' Firefighter Assessment, Quick ViewT"" Emotional Intelligence Assessment, <br />Strength of Character Assessment, Personality Index, Personal Styles Assessment, and the <br />Inwald Personality Inventory -2 (IPI) are completed prior to the interview. PRADCO's <br />assessment process stresses the behavioral importance of emotional intelligence in <br />understanding and responding to people. PRADCO's assessment process also probes implicit <br />bias and a candidate's overall objectivity when interacting with citizens. <br />Candidates are given unique passwords and testing links to complete the assessment <br />components online through any computer or mobile device. Administration time can be <br />scheduled at a PRADCO office, if desired. There are no time limits for the online materials. <br />The Law Enforcement Survey Instrument was designed by PRADCO to give police officer <br />candidates a chance to share more about themselves. In addition to detailed questions <br />regarding the candidate's education and employment history, the survey probes elements of <br />procedural justice and delves into issues involving sense of duty, relationships with co- <br />workers, community interaction, and judgment. The Law Enforcement Survey asks candidates <br />to complete a series of open-ended questions, essays, and a variety of sentence completion <br />items. <br />The Full Survey Instrument was designed by PRADCO. In addition to questions regarding the <br />candidate's education and employment history, the survey asks firefighter candidates to <br />complete a series of questions, essays, and a number of sentence completion items.
