Council Minutes of 6-1-2021
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Jen Rudolph
3329 Walter Road
Ms. Rudolph said she wanted to convey her deep disappointment in the flyer she received
from the Mayor's campaign committee. She told the Mayor it disturbed her greatly that
instead of focusing on his accomplishments in his first communication for re-election he
attacked City Council on a decision that was made two to three years ago that did not go
his way. She said it was insulting to attack Council when some of them have supported
him for over 10 years and there are less than a handful of decisions that did not go his
way. She said she expected better.
The Mayor asked to respond.
Council President Jones reminded the Mayor this isn't a political debate, but a City
Council meeting.
The Mayor said he would refrain from commenting, but asked Ms. Rudolph to call him.
Jeff Sturgeon
3092 W. 231
Mr. Sturgeon said Mr. Limpert said it was going to be three inches of asphalt
replacement. Mr. Sturgeon said he thought Elm Road was a concrete road, not asphalt.
He asked if the City planned to grind off three inches of concrete and replace it with three
inches of asphalt.
Director Lieber said it is a concrete street and it will be an overlay. She said there will be
no grinding, but there will be base repairs needed where the joints are separating.
Mr. Sturgeon thanked Director Lieber and said he is also happy to hear the Tractor
Supply Company is coming to his neighborhood. He said at the Planning Commission
meeting he brought it to their attention there was not a roof over their 2,000 gallon
propane storage tank and that State Codes required it. He said he saw that has been
changed. Mr. Sturgeon said at the time he was told the Fire Chief would be reviewing and
he asked if the Fire Chief had and if he had any comments regarding it.
Director Lieber said fire prevention is part of the plan review process and the Fire
Department has been involved in this project review since the initial submission and it
will be routed to the department before permits are issued. She said it will certainly be
reviewed for compliance by building code and state fire code.
Mr. Sturgeon asked if that meant he hasn't reviewed it yet, but that he would be.
Director Lieber said preliminary plans were reviewed, but the detailed construction
drawings have not been submitted for permit yet. She said at the planning stage they were
D
