Special Council Minutes of 7-9-2021 None MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS Mayor Kennedy thanked Duane Limpert for his service to the City and his willingness to come out of retirement when he was asked. Mayor Kennedy said the City finds itself in this place because his original nominee last year never received an interview and on Tuesday Councilwoman Hemann announced Council had decided not to interview. He said Council has one job and that is to interview the candidate. He said by now he would be the Service & Safety Director. He said with six months left before an election you cannot find a qualified person. He said Duane Limpert is more than qualified. Mayor Kennedy said he was embarrassed for the residents. He said Duane Limpert has been the Service and Safetv Director and held multiple positions on Council. He said Duane Limpert knows the people, the system and the City as well as anyone. Mayor Kennedy said he looks forward to hitting the ground running, but Council says they want someone, but just will not ok it. Councilman Glassburn moved to allow Council to meet electronically through the month of July. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Roll Call: Yes: Glassburn, Williamson, Kelly, Schumann, Hemann, Brossard No: None Motion carried. Council authorized to meet electronically through July of 2021, 6-0. Councilman Schumann moved excuse the absence of Councilman Limpert. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Roll Call: Yes: Schumann, Williamson, Brossard, Hemann, Glassburn, Kelly No: None Motion carried. Councilman Limpert excused 6-0.
