MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 17, 2021 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kelly, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & <br />Community Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Special Council Meeting Minutes of July 1, 2021 were approved as written. <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of August 3, 2021 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: First Reading: Ordinances 2021-52 and 2021-54. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The Elm Road Rehabilitation Project was recently awarded to Specialized <br />Construction. Work is expected to start in September and should be completed in <br />approximately 60 days. <br />• The City of North Olmsted is partnering with the CSU Small Business <br />Development Center and the North Olmsted Chamber of Commerce to offer a <br />free webinar to our local businesses. That webinar is entitled "Navigating HR <br />Issues in the COVID Area." The webinar will be held September 1 at Noon. More <br />information and the registration link are on the City website. <br />• Dominion will begin gas line replacement on Mastick Road beginning Monday, <br />August 23. The road will be closed, but there will be access to local residents. The <br />work should conclude by the end of September with road repairs to follow. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Regarding the dog bite case involving Ms. Ramos -Martinez. It has been set for a <br />pretrial in Rocky River on August 26`x' at 8:15 a.m. <br />• Since the last meeting where Council was updated regarding the Kelly Patrick <br />public record lawsuit, Ms. Patrick has filed a motion for the court to vacate its <br />decision. It's not an appeal, it's motion to remove the judgement and reopen the <br />case. The City has filed a response. <br />• The Department of Law has been working with the Building Department related <br />to housing and right now there are at least three potential candidates for possible <br />
