MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 3, 2021 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kelly, Limpert & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Planning & <br />Community Development Lieber and Clerk of Council Massarolo <br />Absent: Council Member Schumann <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of June 15, 2021 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: First Reading: Ordinance 2021-48. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The Service Department has been authorized to pick up yard waste because <br />Republic hasn't been picking it up. The City will bill Republic. <br />• Recreation is rounding the corner on summer programming and getting ready for <br />the fall. As summer programing is wrapping up, fall programming will be <br />announced next week with registration starting on August 23. Summer in the City <br />continues in August with Yoga in the Park, Westside Flea, an outdoor movie and <br />Bike Bash. The final event is North Olmsted's Community Council Homecoming <br />parade on Sunday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m. There will be food, music and a car <br />show at North Olmsted park until 5:00 p.m. <br />• Quite a few roadway, bridge and utility projects are creating temporary <br />inconveniences for people getting around town. The City thanks everyone for <br />their continued patience and updates will continue to be posted on the website as <br />work progresses. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Assistant Director of Law O'Malley was named the 2021 North Olmsted Citizen <br />of the Year. Two days later he also was named the 2021 Saint Edward's Eagles <br />Legal Man of the Year. <br />• Regarding the dog bite case, last week Ms. Ramos -Martinez was a no show for <br />her court appearance. I found that to be a bit odd because she had an attorney at <br />least make an initial appearance. Neither her attorney or her were present which <br />
