MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 4, 2022 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Hemann, Kelly, Scarl <br />and Williamson. <br />Also Present Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones, Asst. Director of Law O'Malley and Clerk of Council <br />Taylor <br />Absent Council Members Limpert and Glassburn <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />Councilwoman Williamson moved to remove Resolutions 2022-31 and 2022-37 and Ordinance <br />2022-36 from Committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kelly and passed 5-0. <br />Roll Call <br />Yes: Williamson, Kelly, Gilchrist, Hamann, Scarl <br />No. None <br />Motion carried. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading <br />Resolution 2022-37. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• Summarized the success of the DEA Drug Takeback event stating that North Olmsted <br />collected the most pounds of drugs of the surrounding areas with 93 pounds. <br />• Several reports of door-to-door representatives of NOPEC in our communities. As a <br />reminder NOPEC never goes door-to-door or calls to enroll residents. <br />• Announced the bike path clean-up on May 7'h sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, North <br />Olmsted Service Department and North Olmsted High School Key Club. <br />• North Olmsted Garden Club Plant sale is on Saturday, May 14th. <br />• Annual ice show "Skate Flicks' scheduled for May 6'^, May 7'h and May 8'h . <br />• Eve Uhland was announced as North Olmsted's Citizen of the Year. <br />• Mayor recognized three nurses working in the Fire Department Captain Brian Shlapack. <br />Roger Hutkay and Keith Rush, in addition to Councilwoman Gilchrist in honor of National <br />Nurses week. <br />• North Olmsted will be advertising an entry level Police and Fire Test through the <br />National Testing Network May 9'^ — June 9'h. Also advertising and testing for police <br />lateral transfers during the same timeframe. <br />
