Council Minutes of 05-04-2022 <br />Assistant Director of Law O'Malley <br />• None <br />Mayor Jones on behalf of Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• None <br />Council President Brossard, Committee of the Whole: <br />The Committee of the Whole met on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 6:09 p.m. Present were Council <br />President Brossard, Councilmembers Glassburn, Hamann, Limpert, Gilchrist and Scarl, Finance <br />Director Copfer, Safety Director Scofield, Special Assistant to the Mayor Massarolo, Fire Chief <br />Schepp and guests. <br />• The meeting was a tour of the Chagrin Valley Dispatch Center. <br />Councilwoman Williamson on behalf of Chairman Glassburn and Vice Chairman Limpert of the <br />Finance Committee. <br />• The Finance Committee opened on Tuesday, May 4, 2022 at 7:14 p.m. and due to lack <br />of quorum was closed a1 7:14 pm. <br />Janet Jaeger, 24177 Vincent Drive <br />Came to speak -out in support of opting out of Ohio's new fireworks law. Concerned about <br />people abusing the new law and those with PTSD, Veterans, dogs and wildlife having a difficult <br />time with the fireworks. <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane <br />Relayed his frustration with the Council Meeting Minutes not being up-to-date. 'Informally' <br />requested the minutes from Assistant Law Director O'Malley, to which Mr. O'Malley replied that <br />he cannot produce or distribute documents that do not exist. <br />Robert Markowitz, 24177 Vincent Drive <br />Also wanted to show support of opting out of Ohio's new fireworks law. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2022-31 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. A Resolution <br />authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with Mad Bomber Fireworks Productions to <br />provide a fireworks display for the 2022 North Olmsted homecoming event, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />Ordinance 2022-36 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second reading. An Ordinance <br />Amending and Re -Establishing Section 171.04 of the Community Reinvestment Chapter of the <br />Administrative Code, entitled `Housing Officer Designated" in order to designate the Director of <br />Economic and Community Development as the Housing Officer. <br />Resolution 2022-37 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its second ready. A Resolution <br />authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with <br />the firm selected in the R. F. Q. process to provide professional consulting services for the <br />development of a Strategic Economic Development Plan, and declaring an emergency. <br />
