MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 17, 2022 <br />Present. President Pro -Tem Williamson, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kelly, Limpert and Scarl. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Clerk of Council <br />Taylor <br />Absent: Council President Brossard <br />President Pro -Tem Williamson called the meeting to order at 8:06 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules, on second reading <br />Ordinance 2022-46. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• May 15-21, 2022 is National EMS and Police week. In remembrance of all Federal, <br />State and local officers who were killed or disabled in the line of duty. <br />• Final Community Open House for Forest and Spruce Elementary Schools on May 21. <br />2022, both of which will be closing at the end of the school year. <br />• The Mayor read to the third grade students at Chestnut Intermediate School for Right to <br />Read Week. <br />• Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses No Cost Program at Cuyahoga Community <br />College is accepting applications until June 2, 2022. This program offers hands-on <br />business education for small businesses. <br />• Fireworks and Homecoming 2022, the North Olmsted Community Council and City of <br />North Olmsted will present "BOOM" fireworks display on August 28t'. <br />• Senior vs. Senior Chair Volleyball game wherein Seniors from North Olmsted High <br />School will face-off with Seniors from the North Olmsted Senior Center on May 20, 2022. <br />• Memorial Day Parade begins at City Hall at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.. May 315', with <br />Memorial Day Ceremony directly following. <br />• Mayor also advised that the Chagrin Valley Dispatch Legislation is being introduced and <br />looks forward to discussing that legislation in next Committee meeting and to advise that <br />public meetings have been scheduled for July 12" for residents who may have <br />questions. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Thanked Mayor Jones for recognizing National EMS and Peace Officer Week and <br />further followed-up with the passage written on the Cleveland Police Officer's Memorial. <br />
