MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 2, 2022 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kelly, Limpert, Scarl and Williamson. <br />Also Present Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones, Director of Law Gareau, H. R. Director. Economic <br />Director. Safety Director, Service Director. Recreation Director, Special Assistant <br />to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8.00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road. North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of May 17, 2022 and June 7, 2022, as well as the Public Hearing <br />Minutes of May 24, 2022 were approved as written. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones. <br />• Mayor Jones announced a partnership with Leopardo Energy which will help the city go <br />green, create an estimated 70 jobs and make much needed improvements to aging city <br />buildings. Over the next few months, the City will collaborate with Leopardo to develop <br />an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC). <br />• Mayor Jones congratulated the Police Department, led by Chief Bob Wagner, for the role <br />they played in charging three men, one of whom formerly resided in North Olmsted, for <br />their roles in a scheme to smuggle and illegally ship firearms from Cleveland to Lebanon <br />and Income Tax Evasion. <br />• Recognized Huston Nagy, a 16 -year-old visually impaired golfer and rising junior at <br />North Olmsted High School. who recently competed in the Firestone Junior Cup. <br />• Mayor Jones noted that last Saturday's "Party in the Park drew approximately 300 <br />revelers for a performance by "Pet the Cougar.` a Tom Petty/John Cougar Mellencamp <br />Tribute band. <br />• Welcomed Eagle's Cabinets and Design, a cabinetry showroom to 4772 Great Northern <br />Boulevard in the Aldi Plaza. <br />• Mayor Jones shared plans still ongoing for Homecoming weekend August 25-28, noting <br />Fireworks taking place at dusk at Great Northern Mall on Sunday, August 28. Numerous <br />food trucks will be on hand beginning at 5 p.m. <br />
