Council Minutes of 03-01-2022 <br />allowing the Mayor to make these decisions before we get the snow. The legislation <br />was favorably recommended by a vote of 3-0. <br />Also discussed Resolution 2022-16. A Resolution authorizing the Director of Economic <br />& Community Development to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide <br />construction services for the West 231st Street Rehabilitation Project, as detailed in the <br />specifications on file in the Division of Engineering, and authorizing the Mayor, following <br />approval of the Board of Control. to contract for the same with the lowest and best <br />bidder. The City has applied for $150.000 in Community Block Grants and the <br />estimated cost for the job is $250,267.50, with the balance to be paid by the City. <br />Councilman Kelly noted the residents on that street would like to see it widened for <br />parking. The legislation was favorably recommended 3-0 and the Committee Meeting <br />concluded at 8:22 p.m. <br />Councilman Kelly moved to amend Ordinance 2022-14 as discussed in Committee. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. <br />Roll Call. <br />Yes. Kelly, Williamson. Gilchrist, Scarl, Limpert <br />No: None <br />Motion carried. Ordinance 2022-14 amended 5-0. <br />None <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Duane Limpert <br />4921 Berkshire Drive <br />Mr. Limpert is the President of the West Park Forest Ridge Civic Association and wanted to get <br />something documented with regard to who has responsibility for the maintenance of the <br />Berkshire median and circles on Willet Mr. Limpert explained that they have been told it is the <br />Association's responsibility, to which he remarked that the Association owns no property and <br />therefore its maintenance cannot be under its care. Mr. Limpert distributed to the Mayor and <br />Council President the correspondence sent on this matter. Mayor Jones responded by stating <br />that the Service Director has already been looking into this issue as there are several Civic <br />Associations within the City. She further stated Director Kearny is working with his team to <br />complete an aggregate list to discuss internally, and if Council action is needed, the <br />Administration will bring it forth to Council to address these issues. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2022-13 introduced by Mayor Jones was given its third reading. A Resolution <br />authorizing the Director of Economic and Community Development to request Statements of <br />Qualifications ("S.0 Q.s") from qualified firms to provide professional consulting services for the <br />development of a Strategic Economic Development Plan, as amended. Councilman Limpert <br />moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed 5-0. <br />
