CITY OF BRECKSVILLE
Firc Deparimenr
June 20, 2022
To Whom It Mas Conccm.
Shorrb. after becoming the chief ofour department five vcars ago, I attended several meetings "ith
our Mayor, Police Chief; and other fire chiefs discussing the possibility of joining Chagrin Valley
Dispatch (CVD)_ As a new chief, I was doing nhv best to learn my new role and the thought of
snaking this move seemed like a daunting task. Additionally. mcut bers ofour department had learned
of tire possibility and there was some apprehension, with the biggest concern of losing the personal
touch ofhaving your own dispatch.
After a few meetings with our administration and Nick Dol cco. I was impressed with his leadership.
professionalism, and hone sts. Mr_ DiC(cco met with our department from the beginning and stated
there would be some hurdles the Ilrst scar. As things progressed. he and his team assisted with mail%
of the on -boarding tasks and made the transition smooth with minimal issues_
I believe joining CVD has provided us the opportunity to steandine emergency response when it
comes to automaticimutual aid. We saw an instant benefit during large scale incidents, where CVD
simuhaneousk dispatches our mutual 'aid partners. thus saving critical tine_ CVD raises the bar when
it comes to technology and tracking, resources during incidents- which has greeds aided us in the
field during significant incidents.
Nick DiCicco and his team also offer many resources to their partnering communities, including the
command vehicle (ItAVOC-t), radio maintenance. and a drone response learn. Our department has
observed CVD hosting training programs of high caliber for their dispatchers, which attract
participants from around the region and even out of state.
CVD has been very responsive to any issues we have and I would fully recommend them. The fear of
losing that personal touch in local dispatching has lifted as our department members have seen the
results. CVD has also become part of our communise and attends our annual salety lair (photos
attached)_ Please feel free to contact me with am questions_
Sincere],
Vick Zamiska
Fire Chief City of Brecksville Direct 410 -?26--2634
APIA
BRECKS SLE
V\Ln„
.,_.a )I ..
