June 20, 2022
To Whom it May Concern
Euchid fire Department
Headquarters, Fire Station No 1
775 East 222"d St.
Euclid, Ohio 44123
Assistant Fire Chief William R. Anderson, MPA, CFO
- 216.289.8408
The City of Euclid has partnered with Chagrin Valley Dispatch (CVD) since April 2015. Our
decision to partner with CVD was based on their.
• 68 -year history and numerous accomplishments,
• technological expertise and capabilities,
• ability to provide the same (or better) level of service to our stakeholders and
residents,
• vision and room for expansion,
• inclusiveness (Council of Governments), and
• example as a leader in regionalization.
The discussions leading up to joining CVD were understandably filled with emotion and, at
times, were contentious. These concerns came from dispatchers, a few members of City
Council, and a small but vocal contingent of residents. Transparency and facts helped
navigate the public hearings. I can attest that a project like this comes down to two
important areas of public governance: the ability to embrace change and trust. All Euclid
dispatchers were offered jobs with CVD. In our case, dispatchers received a $5,000 annual
raise. While upset at first, one dispatcher has since told me that the move to CVD was the
best thing that happened to her career. She was amazed at the technology upgrades, the
extra staffing, and the sense of teamwork and belonging.
As you consider the services of CVD, you're already aware that the need to reinvent
ourselves is more important than ever in the modern-day public -sector. Efficiency and
stewardship play a major role in what we do daily. CVD provides that efficiency and
stewardship while also leveraging technology to enhance public safety. Please consider this
quote from John F. Kennedy "Change is the law of life and those who look only to the past
orpresent are certain to miss the future. r My contact information is provided above. I
encourage you to contact me with any questions. Thank you!
Sincerely / .
William R. Anderson
Assistant Fire Chief
