4. SHAKER HEIGHTS
June 21, 2022
Bay Village Ponce Department
Fairview Park Ponce Department
Lakewood Police Department
North Olmsted Police Department.
North Ridgeville Police Department
Rocky River Police Department
Westlake Police Department
Westcom Communication Cenmr
"Po Whom it May Concern.
In November 2017, the Shaker I[eights Police Department transitioned its dispatch operations to the Heights
Hillcrest Communications Center (now a member of Chagrin Valley Dispatch - CVD). Prior to the transition,
there were many concerns not the least of winch were maintaining historically excellent levels of service and
ensuring dispatcher, becoming re-employed wish die new dispatch center. 'Phis transition did not come
without growing pains; most of which were experienced within the fust year of operation. Although, we knew
these challenges were to be expected with a transfer of operations of this nature,
Importantly, I can honestly stare that the administration of the Heights Hillcrest Center never "hinged"
during that fust year and consistently worked hand in hand with our Department to resolve the previously
mentioned issues.
As we close our fifth year of dispatch operations with CVD (formerly the A{eights Hillcrest Communications
Center), I can attest that this transition was the right move for us both operationally and financially. From the
financial peapective, our City has saved a argnifieaur amount of operational and capital Funding by moving m
a regional dispatch center Operationally, our levels of service to our community remain excellent which
speaks, in part, to the efforts of the personnel with CVD. On an adrninistranvc note, personnel with CVD are
extremely efficient at providing recordings of radio traffic or 911 calls or other public records which may be
requested by various entities.
In closing and without reservation, I highly recommend your law e tfomement and fire agenates strongly
consider transitioning your dispatch services to CVD. If your mission is excellent levels of service to your
community and professional dispatching sen, ices, transitioning to CVD is the answer.
If I can provide any additional information, please feel Fee to contact me.
Sincerely,
JzFFrEy N.
