CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE. NO. 2022 —114 <br />BY: Mayor Jones <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE .NO. <br />2022-38 (AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO REQUEST <br />PROPOSALS FOR PROFESSIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION <br />SERVICES AND CONSULTING FOR REDUCTION OF CITY <br />ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND UTILITY COSTS; FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE FIRM SELECTED IN THE RFP PROCESS), AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS. this Council adopted Ord. No. 2022-38, a copy of which is <br />incorporated by reference. and thereby authorized the Director of 1?conomic and <br />Community Development, pursuant to the provisions of the Revised Code to initiate an <br />RFp process to select the most qualified firm to serve as the City's Energy Services <br />performance Consultant, in accordance with R.C. Section 717.02: and <br />WHEREAS. this Council thereby adopted and enabled the City to plan for <br />-energy conservation measures" in accordance with R.C. Section 717.02, to evaluate and <br />improve public buildings to reduce energy consumption and lower utility costs and to <br />provide professional consulting services on systems and contracts to reduce energy costs: <br />and <br />WHEREAS. the Director of Law recommended and this Council adopted <br />limitations that, in the event that no energy conservation measures are implemented, nor <br />costs or consumption otherwise reduced. the Agreement may provide for payment not to <br />exceed the amount of $2,500.00 to conduct an energy performance audit of the Service <br />Garage. <br />WHEREAS, the RIP process resulted in a vendor that is in a position to provide a <br />broader scope of services beyond the Service Garage but within the scope of the original <br />RFP. to audit and identify' energy savings opportunities at a cost of $37.283.00; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that the City utilize this opportunity <br />to increase funding in order to identify potential Fnergy Conservation Measures related to <br />city infrastructure: and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to amend Section 2 of Ord. No. 2022- <br />38 in order to remove the $2,500.00 limitation imposed on any Agreement with the <br />vendor selected in the RFP process and to increase said limitation to an amount ranging <br />
