Council Minutes of 12-20-2022 <br />• There were five winners selected by the North Olmsted Arts Commission in their annual <br />Holiday Home Decorating Contest. <br />Winners are as follows: <br />Overall Best Display: 25018 Mitchell Drive <br />Traditional Display: 5991 Louis Drive <br />Most Festive Display: 26587 Butternut Ridge Road <br />Best "Griswold" Display: 29247 Lorain Road <br />Best Outdoor Tree Display: 4647 Azalea Lane <br />Registration is currently in process for several programs at the Recreation Center for the <br />Winter I session, including: Learn to Swim, Learn to Skate, Spring Cheer Clinic, Nerf <br />Battle, Indoor Boat Race, Spring Flag Football, Lacrosse, and the Spring Volleyball <br />League. <br />The home of the North Olmsted High School Principal, Zach Weagley, was destroyed by <br />a fire on December 17th. Fortunately, no one in the family was injured, as they were <br />not home at the time, however, they did lose their dog to the fire, along with everything <br />else. The Schools are planning a gift card drive to help the family. <br />Funeral services were held at St. Richard Catholic Church last Saturday, December 17"', <br />for former North Olmsted Mayor Edward Boyle who held the position of Mayor from <br />1990-1997. Thoughts are with the family and we sincerely thank Mayor Boyle for his <br />love of, and service to, North Olmsted. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Director Gareau did not have a report but wanted to extend best wishes to Councilman <br />Kelly in his new position, and also extended holiday wishes to all. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• Director Copfer reported that the October Month End Summary Reports were sent to <br />Council and the Administration, and also wished Councilman Kelly well. <br />Councilwoman Williamson, Chairwoman of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee <br />did not have a report but wished Councilman Kelly well in his new position. <br />Councilman Limpert, Chairman of the Building, Zoning and Development Committee did not <br />have a report, but congratulated Mr. Kelly and thanked him for his service. Also extended <br />sympathies to the Boyle family. <br />Councilman Glassburn, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met on December 10, 2022 beginning at 8:05 a.m. and ending at 2:30 <br />p.m., present were Committee Members Glassburn, Williamson and Limpert and Council <br />Members Hemann and Scarl, Mayor Jones, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, <br />Human Resources Director Kidd, Safety Director Scofield, Recreation and Public Engagement <br />Director Pinchek, and Special Assistant to the Mayor Massarolo, Keith Sperling and guests <br />
