MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />" OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 17, 2023 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Limpert, Scarl and Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance <br />Copfer, H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, <br />Recreation Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. <br />Absent: None <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of December 20, 2022 and January 3, 2023 were approved as <br />written. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On first reading, <br />Resolution 2023-6. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• The City has retained City Architecture to study and create a master plan for the <br />transportation and land use needs for the entire Lorain Road Corridor. As part of the <br />plan, members of the public are invited to provide feedback about various elements of <br />the Lorain Road corridor on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. All Coucil <br />Members are invited and the Mayor asked that each encourage their residents to <br />attend. <br />• The City has had several retirements; the Mayor thanked Fire Lieutenant Dan Coyle and <br />Fire Lieutenant/Fire Prevention Matt O'Donnell, Fire Prevention Officer Jeff Wilson and <br />Fire Fighter Dave Meadows and Police Officer Pat Scullin, for their years of service to the <br />City. <br />• The City has been busy hiring as well, the Mayor welcomed Jose Colon Nogueras and <br />Tyler Fugate who recently joined the Fire Department, and the Police Department has <br />recently hired Alex Johnson, and has extended offers to two other candidates.
