MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL " OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED JANUARY 17, 2023 Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, Scarl and Williamson. Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. Absent: None Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. ANNOUNCEMENTS The Council Meeting Minutes of December 20, 2022 and January 3, 2023 were approved as written. The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On first reading, Resolution 2023-6. REPORTS Mayor Jones: • The City has retained City Architecture to study and create a master plan for the transportation and land use needs for the entire Lorain Road Corridor. As part of the plan, members of the public are invited to provide feedback about various elements of the Lorain Road corridor on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. All Coucil Members are invited and the Mayor asked that each encourage their residents to attend. • The City has had several retirements; the Mayor thanked Fire Lieutenant Dan Coyle and Fire Lieutenant/Fire Prevention Matt O'Donnell, Fire Prevention Officer Jeff Wilson and Fire Fighter Dave Meadows and Police Officer Pat Scullin, for their years of service to the City. • The City has been busy hiring as well, the Mayor welcomed Jose Colon Nogueras and Tyler Fugate who recently joined the Fire Department, and the Police Department has recently hired Alex Johnson, and has extended offers to two other candidates.
