MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FEBRUARY 21, 2023 Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, Madden, Scarl and Williamson - Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau, H. R. Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. Absent None Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to loin Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. ANNOUNCEMENTS The Council Meeting Minutes of February 7, 2023 were approved as written. The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Resolution 2023-5, Resolution 2023-12 and Resolution 2023-16, and on first reading Resolution 2023-26. REPORTS Mayor Jones: • Mayor Jones discussed the upcoming schedule for Friday Fish Fries in observance of the Lenten season, noting that each week will be sponsored by a different North Olmsted organization. All cash tips are donated to the serving organization- The times are from 4:00-7:00 p.m- every Friday at Springvale. • Saturday, February 25, 2023 will be the ribbon cutting/grand opening of the newly improved Field House at the Recreation Center, beginning at 1:00 p.m. • Mayor Jones announced the North Olmsted Senior Center is partnering with CHN Housing Partners and Cuyahoga ETC Coalition, to offer free tax preparation to North Olmsted residents making less than $60,000.00 per year The free tax preparation will take place on March 30 — 31, from 10:00 — 2:00 p.mat the Senior Center. Appointments can be made through the Senior Center. • The Red Cross hosts monthly blood drives at the North Olmsted Community Cabin on the first Wednesday of every month from 1'.00-7:00 p.m. An appointment can be made through 1 800 - RED -CROSS. • The next Maple PTA Mobile Produce Pantry, in conjunction with the Cleveland Food bank is scheduled for March 28, 2023. • The North Olmsted Senior Center will host an educational seminar 'Saving Money with Medicare" at the Senior Center, by appointment only, beginning March 1, 2023.
