MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 7. 2023 Present: Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, Madden, Scarl and Williamson Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, H. R. Director, Economic Director, Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. Absent: Council President Brossard Council President Pro Terrance Williamson called the meeting to order at 8:13 p.m, in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. ANNOUNCEMENTS The Council Meeting Minutes of February 21, 2023 were approved as written. The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading, Ordinances 2023-23 and 2023-27 and Resolution 2023-31, and on first reading Resolution 2023-32 and Resolution 2023-33. REPORTS Mayor Jones: • The Mayor invited Council to opening night at the Mayor's Art Show on Wednesday from 6 — 8:00 p.m. at Old Time Hall. The Mayor's Art Show is open to the Community from Wednesday— Saturday. • All residents and all of Council were invited to the Mayor's State of the City Address to be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 7.00 p.m. at Springvale Ballroom. All elected and appointed Directors will be available to answer questions. • March is Senior Appreciation Month at the North Olmsted Recreation Center. Seniors can earn shamrocks by participating in select events during the Month of March and the top three shamrock earners will win a prize. • The Mayor swore in three new Paramedic Fire Fighters on March 81', and welcomed Andrew Jones, Preston Miller and Jacob Novak to the Fire Department. • The Economic Development Director and Mayor Jones attended the Arby's Grand Opening, and stated the new building looks great and that most will appreciate the new drive-thru. • The Recreation Center hosted the first cardboard boat races, and the Mayor reported that two of the six boats made it across the pool, and a good time was had by all. • The Mayor also reminded everyone the Recreation Center's First Nerf Battle will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
