MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 7. 2023 <br />Present: Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, Madden, Scarl and Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, H. R. <br />Director, Economic Director, Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, Special <br />Assistant to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. <br />Absent: Council President Brossard <br />Council President Pro Terrance Williamson called the meeting to order at 8:13 p.m, in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of February 21, 2023 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading, Ordinances <br />2023-23 and 2023-27 and Resolution 2023-31, and on first reading Resolution 2023-32 and Resolution <br />2023-33. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• The Mayor invited Council to opening night at the Mayor's Art Show on Wednesday from 6 — <br />8:00 p.m. at Old Time Hall. The Mayor's Art Show is open to the Community from Wednesday— <br />Saturday. <br />• All residents and all of Council were invited to the Mayor's State of the City Address to be held <br />on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 7.00 p.m. at Springvale Ballroom. All elected and appointed <br />Directors will be available to answer questions. <br />• March is Senior Appreciation Month at the North Olmsted Recreation Center. Seniors can earn <br />shamrocks by participating in select events during the Month of March and the top three <br />shamrock earners will win a prize. <br />• The Mayor swore in three new Paramedic Fire Fighters on March 81', and welcomed Andrew <br />Jones, Preston Miller and Jacob Novak to the Fire Department. <br />• The Economic Development Director and Mayor Jones attended the Arby's Grand Opening, and <br />stated the new building looks great and that most will appreciate the new drive-thru. <br />• The Recreation Center hosted the first cardboard boat races, and the Mayor reported that two <br />of the six boats made it across the pool, and a good time was had by all. <br />• The Mayor also reminded everyone the Recreation Center's First Nerf Battle will be held on <br />Friday, March 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. <br />
