MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 18, 2023 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, <br />Madden, Scarl and Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, <br />H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, <br />Special Assistant to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. <br />Absent: None <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:13 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance <br />The Council Meeting Minutes and Public Hearing Meeting Minutes of April 4, 2023, were approved as <br />written. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Ordinance 2023- <br />43, Resolution 2023-44 and Ordinance 2023-45, and on first reading, Resolution 2023-47. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• Mayor Jones reported that Rep. Max Miller submitted the City of North Olmsted's request for <br />funding for the Clague Road sanitary force main replacement project in the amount of two <br />million to be included in the federal fiscal appropriations. While there is more work to be done <br />to ensure that this funding is secured, the City has jumped the largest hurdle in the process. <br />• The City welcomed two new businesses at Great Northern Mall; Daily Thread and Rainbow <br />Apparel Company, both of which are specialty clothing retailers. <br />• The 10Dth anniversary of Springvale Ballroom will be marked with a special centennial dance <br />from 6-9 p.m. on May 18, 2023. Tickets are $10 each and will be sold at the door the evening of <br />the event. <br />• "Skating through the Decades" is the theme of the 2023 Ice Show at the North Olmsted <br />Recreation Center. Performances will take place on Friday, May 19th, on Saturday, May 20th, <br />and on Sunday, May 21st. Tickets will be $12 at the door. <br />• North Olmsted High School will present a STEAM Showcase from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, <br />May 9, 2023. Students will present, demonstrate and showcase their interactive STEAM <br />projects. <br />• Also, the students at North Olmsted High School will present the Rodgers & Hammerstein <br />musical, "The Sound of Music" in at 7 p.m. on April 28 and 29, and at a 2 p.m. matinee on April <br />
