MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 17, 2023 <br />Present: Council Members Gilchrist, Hemann, Limpert, Madden, Scarl and <br />Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Jones, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Economic and <br />Community Development Upton, Director of Safety Scofield, Director of <br />Human Resources Kidd, Service Director Kearney, Director of Recreation <br />Pinchek and Special Assistant to the Mayor. <br />Absent: Council President Brossard <br />President Pro Tempore Williamson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />ISSUE: Ordinance 2023-95. An Ordinance amending the zoning map of <br />the City of North Olmsted to rezone a portion of Split Parcel 233-26-063 <br />from one family residence to B-3 General Business Zoning, as Amended. <br />President Pro Tempore Williamson reminded Council that during a Public Hearing the <br />goal is to hear concerns and issues from the audience, and asked the Director of <br />Economic and Community Development for a brief summary. <br />Director Upton addressed Council and the audience by explaining that Weber <br />Automotive is doing very well in North Olmsted and would like to expand their building <br />capacity by purchasing and rezoning .6629 acres, or 28,876 sq. feet of property <br />purchased from the North Olmsted City Schools, specifically PPN 233-26-063. Director <br />Upton stated the partial parcel re -zoning will allow for an additional building to be built <br />and that Weber Automotive plans to invest in significant improvements as well as <br />employment opportunities. <br />Ted Grabowski <br />5392 Hampton <br />Mr. Grabowski lives next to this property; his parcel number is 233-26-062. He was of <br />the understanding that the area purchased from the school was going to remain a <br />residential area and asked to see a map for clarification. <br />Director Upton spoke to Mr. Grabowski quietly at the podium to show him the map with <br />a brief explanation. <br />Councilman Glassburn asked Director Upton to speak so that those in attendance could <br />hear, in order to explain where the property is located. <br />
