MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 21, 2023 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, <br />Madden, Scarl and Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, <br />H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director and guests. <br />Absent: None. <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of November 8, 2023 and the Special Council Meeting Minutes of <br />November 14, 2023, were approved as written. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Ordinance 2023- <br />131, and on first reading Resolution 2023-140. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• The Administration hosted the first Community Visioning meeting on November 16, 2023 at <br />North Olmsted High School. The meeting was part of the City's Comprehensive Master Plan. <br />Good feedback was received and the Mayor noted there will be additional meetings early next <br />year. <br />• Mayor Jones advised Council that she swore -in our newest Firefighter/Paramedic, Andrew <br />Collins. <br />• The November 17, 2023 fireworks planned for Santa's arrival were again cancelled due to <br />weather, but the Mayor did take part in Santa's Grand Arrival at Great Northern Mall. <br />• The Department of Recreation and Public Engagement will host "Holiday Hangout 2023" from 2- <br />5 p.m. on Sunday, December 3rd at Springvale Ballroom. This family -friendly event will include <br />holiday games, crafts, music, and a visit from Santa. Council is invited to attend. <br />• The next free produce distribution by the Maple School PTA will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. <br />on November 28, 2023 at Maple Elementary School, 24101 Maple Ridge Road. This is a drive- <br />through service for North Olmsted residents. <br />• On Wednesday, December 6, the City will host its annual holiday brunch for employees, and for <br />the second year in a row, we will be adopting a family for the Christmas holiday. Cash donations <br />will be collected and given to a family in need, working in conjunction with one of the North <br />
