Council Minutes of 12-05-2023 <br />• The City of North Olmsted provides affordable transportation to individuals aged 60 and older <br />through the Senior Transportation Connection (STC). Contact STC at 216-265-1489 to learn more <br />and schedule a ride. <br />• The American Red Cross holds monthly blood drives in the North Olmsted Community Cabin on <br />the first Wednesday of every month from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The next date is Wednesday, <br />December 6'h. <br />• The American Red Cross also has a need for volunteers to assist with their drives. Their mission <br />is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power <br />of volunteers and generosity of donors. <br />• Also, offered on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in collaboration <br />with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, the Maple PTA will provide free, fresh produce for the <br />North Olmsted community at Maple Intermediate School located at 24101 Maple Ridge Road. <br />The next date is Tuesday, December 19"; this is a drive-through service. <br />• The Mayor reminded Council and attendees that the North Olmsted Oxcart Food Pantry is <br />always in need of non-perishable food donations. November and December are the busiest <br />months of the year for the pantry. Volunteers are also needed to help with preparing food bags, <br />and assist with food distribution. If you can help, call Case Manager Georgia Wilder at <br />440.716.4165, or drop off your donations of food items at the pantry, which is located at 26272 <br />Butternut Ridge Road. <br />• North Olmsted City Hall will be closed in observance of the Christmas Holiday on Monday, <br />December 25 and Tuesday, December 26. <br />• City Hall will likewise be closed Monday and Tuesday January 1 and 2 for the New Year Holiday. <br />• A reminder that trash collection in North Olmsted will be delayed during the holiday season <br />from December 28th to 29th during Christmas week, and again from January 4th to 5th in the <br />first week of the New Year. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Director Gareau stated that he and Director Copfer have spent many hours revising the <br />Municipal Tax code to bring forward Ordinance 2023-143. <br />Director Gareau on behalf of Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• On November 21.r, the City paid off the Ohio Real Estate Acquisition Note and Ohio Economic <br />Development Nontax Revenue Note issued in 2022 to purchase the school properties. In total, <br />$4,005,000 in principal and $222,050 in interest was retired with $1,500,000 from the Bond <br />Retirement Fund and the remaining $2,727,050 via a transfers from the General, Recreation, <br />Permanent Improvement, Land & Building Acquisition, and Waste Water Treatment Plant Funds. <br />• Also, on November 30v,, the City made principal and interest payments on the City's outstanding <br />General Obligation bonded debt reducing our outstanding principal balance by $2,810,000. In <br />addition to the principal, the payment included $344,025 of interest. The new balance of <br />outstanding General Obligation bonded debt is $15,860,000. <br />
