MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 3, 2024 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members, Glassburn, Madden, Scarl and Shymske. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Assistant Director of Law O'Malley and Director of <br />Finance Copfer, H. R. Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Special Assistant to the <br />Mayor and guests. <br />Absent: Council Members Limpert, Hemann and Gilchrist <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of December 19, 2023 were approved as written. <br />Council President Brossard wished all a Happy New Year and welcomed new At Large Councilman, Paul <br />Shymske. <br />There were no items on suspension. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• Mayor Jones welcomed Councilman Mr. Paul Shymske. <br />• Mayor Jones advised Council that the Budget would be introduced in the near future. <br />• The Mayor will deliver her second "State of the City" Message in March at Springvale Ballroom, <br />and the second annual Economic Development Summit will take place in April, also at <br />Springvale. <br />• The City will serve as host for the monthly West Shore Council of Government meetings in 2024. <br />The first meeting of the year will be on Wednesday, January 10'" and every second Wednesday <br />thereafter. <br />• The Mayor advised Council, per a letter received from the Cleveland Metroparks, that they will <br />continue their deer culling program in the Metroparks. This will affect residents living adjacent <br />to Bradley Woods and those in Rocky River Reservation. All or portions of the park may be <br />closed when culling is taking place. Letters will be sent by the Cleveland Metroparks to those <br />affected residents. <br />• The Frostville Museum will host a Winter Farm Market and Trash and Treasures Sale from 10 <br />a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday in the month of January. <br />• The Mayor reminded all present of a delayed schedule for refuse collection due to the holiday. <br />• National Skating Day will take place on January 7, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. at the North Olmsted <br />Recreation Center, offering 50% off open skate that day. <br />
