MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JANUARY 16, 2024 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, <br />Madden, Scarl and Shymske. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, <br />H. R. Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor and <br />guests. <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of January 3, 2024 and the Special Council Meeting Minutes of January 9, <br />2024 were approved as written. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• Mayor Jones advised that House Bill 229, known as the Brenna Brossard SUDEP Awareness Act <br />was passed by the Ohio House of Representatives 91-0, and will go on to be introduced in the <br />Senate. <br />• Mayor Jones announced the Clague Road Force Main project will begin on January 17', and <br />encouraged all to use alternate routes during this project, which is expected to be complete in <br />May. <br />• The City received news from the Ohio Department of Transportation that it is one of five local <br />governments chosen for the Safe Routes to School grant. The City will receive $36,753.00 to <br />develop a safe travel plan for the new elementary school, along with the high school and middle <br />school. <br />• The Mayor announced the soft -launch of the new Enterprise Permitting and Licensing platform, <br />which allows permits and licenses to be secured online. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• Director Gareau updated Council on a couple of pending matters in litigation, David Kovach, LLC <br />vs. City of North Olmsted, as well as Ted Bowman vs. City of Fairview Park. <br />Director of finance Copfer: <br />• Director Copfer advised the Auditors will be starting their field work the week of January 22"d. <br />
