MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 20, 2024 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, <br />Madden, Scarl and Shymske. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, <br />H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, <br />Special Assistant to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. <br />Absent: None. <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council President Brossard congratulated Councilman Glassburn on his victory in the Democratic <br />Primary Election, for the 151h District House seat. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Ordinance 2024- <br />3 and Ordinance 2024-22. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• Mayor Jones congratulated Councilman Glassburn on his primary election win. <br />• Mayor Jones was excited to share with Council that the City received an additional $500,000 <br />grant from the Land and Water Conservation fund last week, noting the additional funds will go <br />toward the estimated $6.1 million cost of the renovation of North Olmsted Community Park. <br />• Mayor Jones reported the 2024 North Olmsted Mayor's Art show was a rousing success, noting <br />it had the largest crowd in recent history with over 100 attendees, and over 50 pieces of artwork <br />on display by the incredibly talented students of North Olmsted High School. <br />• Only one Fish Fry remains in the Lenten season at Springvale Ballroom on Friday, March 22, <br />2024 from 4-7 p.m. <br />• The Department of Recreation and Public Engagement hosted the annual Easter Egg scramble <br />from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at North Olmsted Community Park. <br />Additionally, the same day, the North Olmsted Kiwanis Club hosted an adult Easter egg hunt <br />from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at Frostville Museum. <br />• The "April Fools Run/Walk" will be held on April 7, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Springvale. The advance <br />cost is $30, and $35 on the day of the race. The North Olmsted Community Council, the North <br />Olmsted Kiwanis Club, and the Berea Animal Rescue (ARF), were all sponsors of this event. <br />
