MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 20, 2024 Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, Madden, Scarl and Shymske. Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. Absent: None. Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Council President Brossard congratulated Councilman Glassburn on his victory in the Democratic Primary Election, for the 151h District House seat. The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Ordinance 2024- 3 and Ordinance 2024-22. REPORTS Mayor Jones: • Mayor Jones congratulated Councilman Glassburn on his primary election win. • Mayor Jones was excited to share with Council that the City received an additional $500,000 grant from the Land and Water Conservation fund last week, noting the additional funds will go toward the estimated $6.1 million cost of the renovation of North Olmsted Community Park. • Mayor Jones reported the 2024 North Olmsted Mayor's Art show was a rousing success, noting it had the largest crowd in recent history with over 100 attendees, and over 50 pieces of artwork on display by the incredibly talented students of North Olmsted High School. • Only one Fish Fry remains in the Lenten season at Springvale Ballroom on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. • The Department of Recreation and Public Engagement hosted the annual Easter Egg scramble from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at North Olmsted Community Park. Additionally, the same day, the North Olmsted Kiwanis Club hosted an adult Easter egg hunt from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at Frostville Museum. • The "April Fools Run/Walk" will be held on April 7, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Springvale. The advance cost is $30, and $35 on the day of the race. The North Olmsted Community Council, the North Olmsted Kiwanis Club, and the Berea Animal Rescue (ARF), were all sponsors of this event.
